Rachel has been biking recreationally since she was a kid and grew up in small town Iowa with an older brother and supportive parents. She has been on a sport team in one way or another since she was 4 years old as she has always had too much energy and needs an activity to contain said energy. She attended the University of Minnesota where she had the opportunity to play for the women's soccer team and later moved to California where her passion for trying new cuisines and traveling was born.

Since moving back to the Minneapolis area in 2018 she has spent much of her free time exploring the local bike trails and has participated in her first bike race. She enjoys any outdoor adventure from skydiving, portaging in the Boundary Waters, to bike-packing the Black Hills with her partner and they are hopeful that someday their two furry cat friends will join in on the fun. Her odd hobby is refurbishing old furniture and finding a home for it. ⁠ ⁠
